Lawrence A. Walmsley – Co-Founder, President & Chairman
Lawrence developed his expertise within the renewable energy practice at McKinsey & Company in New York with a focus on biofuels and bioenergy. During this time he launched the Energy, Industry and Environment Interest Group. Lawrence was also an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York and BroadSpan Capital in Miami. Lawrence has an MBA from MIT, an MPA from Harvard and a BSE from Princeton. At MIT Lawrence was co-president of the MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition.

Dr. Andreas Meiser – Co-Founder & CTO
Andreas developed technologies leading to the founding of algae companies. Previously, Andreas designed, constructed and operated a pilot plant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology from 2002 to 2005. This algae pilot facility produced Ph. tricornutum biomass which was used to provide an economic assessment for production potential. Andreas gained thorough business experiences in the biofuel and biotechnology industry in the years 1999-2002 and 2005-2008 at McKinsey & Company. Andreas has a PhD in Biology and Natural Sciences from the University of Hohenheim, Germany and a Masters in Biology from University of Saarland, Germany.

Mike Welch – Research Associate
Mike has extensive experience in manufacturing and operating indoor and outdoor algae bioreactors for industrial and research applications. Previously, Mike was a Cavalry Scout with the U.S. Army. Mike has a BA in Biochemistry and a Minor in Business Administration from the University of South Florida.
Seung (Eric) Yi – Business Development & Operations
Eric has extensive experience in business development from TrekkSoft and Peek Travel, which he helped grow from a start-up to 150 people. Eric has a Master of Science from NYU and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baruch College.
Philip Simon - Business Development Asia
Philip has worked and lived in South-East Asia for many years, founding and developing successful garment and seafood processing companies. In addition he has worked with sustainable agriculture and renewable energy projects in the region. Philip holds an MBA from the University of Heriot-Watt in Scotland.
